Acro Yoga 101

Acroyoga is a playful and fun way to get fit! It’s a creative combination of partner yoga and acrobatics. It develops partnership, builds trust, strength and concentration. No need to be a professional acrobat or diligent yogi to get into this practice and join the fun. Acroyoga is for everyone. Acroyoga is a physical practice which combines yoga and acrobatics. AcroYoga provides physical and mental health benefits. There are three primary roles in an Acro Yoga practice: base, flyer, and spotter. There are many static acro yoga poses. A series of acro yoga poses that are repeated in a continuous flow is called a Washing Machine.

About Gabrielle:
Gaby is a long-time fitness advocate and certified yoga teacher from Montreal who is now based in Vancouver. Drawing on an early childhood love for circus acrobatics and a subsequent passion for yoga, Gaby has combined these art forms into her Acroyoga practice and has taken it to another level. You will often see Gaby practicing Acroyoga in studios around town, sharing her skills and building a community where everyone is welcome!
